This program is divided into two sections;

Section one is based on teaming up with Chicago organizations and businesses like food pantries, restaurants, and grocery stores to have staff and volunteer members collect food items and distribute them to the homeless on a mobile basis. We carry out mobile distributions almost every weekend!

Homeless individuals on the streets are not vetted by our staff BUT we do not EVER hand out money to the homeless or any of our clients directly. With every meal we hand out we encourage homeless individuals to contact us via phone from a church or shelter so we can assist them with resettlement like our other clients, or get them in touch with someone who can, however homeless individuals have many issues that our other clients do not like mental illnesses and hard drug addictions so it is MUCH more difficult for us to work with them on a permanent basis. Please be understanding of this and the fact that just because they are mentally unstable or addicted to drugs doesn’t mean they don’t get hungry, as stated earlier they do not receive money. Also many of these homeless individuals are victims of identity theft, our health care system and foreclosures)

Section two is about the refugees, single parents and abuse victims we assist who are provided grocery gift cards instead of food items directly.

Clients receiving grocery gift cards MUST be going through a mentorship program or taking classes with us or another charity.

These clients are vetted by our staff or referred to us by fellow tax exempt charities before they receive any kind of temporary food assistance.

Life Skill Development

We learn life skills over time due to the various opportunities and challenges we are presented in life. This could be something as small as learning basic computer functions and English to something as big as learning job interview skills and managing a bank account. However many individuals are not given opportunities to develop these skills and their lives hit road blocks when presented with challenges.

Through the life skill development program Humanity Relief assists its clients like refugees, single parents and abuse victims obtain financial stability through mentorship and small classes while temporarily assisting them with living expenses.

These clients are vetted by our staff our referred to us by fellow tax exempt charities

(All clients MUST going through a mentorship program or taking classes with us or another charity to receive temporary assistance with rent & utilities)

In-Kind Gifts

This program is based on obtaining goods and services rather monetary donations however monetary donations are encouraged from donors exclusively providing goods due to the fact that the pick up/drop off, sorting/cleaning and storage of items such as clothes, furniture, medical equipment, medicines, appliances, vehicles, etc requires money, time and labor from our staff and volunteers

These goods will be provided to clients like refugees, single parents and abuse victims who have an urgent need for the requested good.

For example, one of clients may have finally put enough money together to rent an apartment but cannot afford furniture. Or the homeless in the winter may not have clothing and blankets.

As for services, any type of service that may assist Humanity Relief perform its charitable purpose will be accepted.

Disaster Relief

Most people don’t stop to think how they would cope with the financial burden of reconstruction after a natural disaster has destroyed their home.

Humanity Relief will be collecting monetary donations year round for this program and Disaster Relief items will immediately start being collected if a natural disaster is expected to hit. The items are shipped to parts of the nation that have been struck by natural disasters. We have only sent relief items once to North Carolina by teaming up with local not for profits there however we have not forgotten about this program.

Teams of Humanity Relief staff and volunteers will eventually be sent to recently disaster struck regions in the nation to assist with aid distribution and clean up efforts. Monetary donations will go towards purchasing relief items that were not donated, shipping and volunteer transportation costs.
